Excitement builds as South Africa’s most exciting school’s athletics ‘talent identification’ programme, the PUMA School of Speed prepares to make its Mbombela debut on Saturday 08 February 2020 at Nelspruit High School’s Athletics Track.

Headed by the World’s Fastest Man, Usain Bolt, the PUMA School of Speed Series was launched in 2016 with the goal of identifying exceptional young South African athletes who believe that their future is #ForeverFaster.

The 2020 series consists of five high octane events that kicked off at the Dal Josaphat Athletics Stadium (Paarl) on Wednesday 22 January with the PUMA School of Speed #1, followed by the PUMA School of Speed #2 at the Ruimsig Athletics Stadium (Johannesburg) Saturday 25 January and the  PUMA School of Speed #3 at the PUK McArthur Athletics Stadium (Potchefstroom) on Monday 27 January.

“We are excited to welcome Nelspruit High School’s Athletics Track as a new venue in 2020,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director Stillwater Sports.  “The goal of the series is to identify SA’s exceptional talent.  The first three Meets were action packed from start to finish.  We cannot wait to see what Mbombela’s track and field stars have in store for us.”

“We are proud to expand the Series’ reach by taking the PUMA School of Speed to Mbombela in 2020,” says PUMA Marketing Director Brett Bellinger.  “The PUMA School of Speed is committed to the development of athletics talent in South Africa by discovering the fastest young Speedsters.  We are excited to see whether one or all five of our PUMA Future Stars of 2021 reside in this area.  We are searching for track and field stars that are ready to go #ForeverFaster.  We look forward to witnessing #FastTimes in Mbombela.”

The PUMA School of Speed Series is a real crowd pleaser.  Spectators, families and friends are invited to enjoy a day filled with track & field excitement.
