EVENT
ACCOLADES
All 2020-event athletes stand a chance to be scouted and contracted to the PUMA Squad.
The contract will be for the duration of one calendar year. Each potential PUMA Squad Athlete will be required to sign a legally binding contract with stipulated obligations for both the winners and PUMA.
Podium winners of each event final will win the following:
1st Place – PUMA School of Speed Tee, PUMA peak cap & category medal

2nd Place – PUMA School of Speed Tee, PUMA drawstring bag & category medal

3rd Place – PUMA School of Speed Tee, water bottle & category medal

The APE/ASA table will be used to determine the top 3 overall male and female athletes.

#1 What is PUMA School of Speed (SoS)?
A: The PUMA School of Speed is a talent identification programme looking for the fastest athletes on South African soil.
#2 Who is the team behind SoS?

#3 What events form part of SoS?
A: Focusing on track and field events. You have a chance to take part in the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, Relays (only for the u19 teams), Short hurdles, Long jump and High jump.
#4 Where does SoS take place?
A: Stellenbosch, Green Point, Ruimsig, Durban and Pretoria

#5 Why should I enter SoS?
A: SoS offers you the opportunity to be identified as the next Fastest athlete. Follow in the footsteps of Usain Bolt and Thando Roto to win a spot in the PUMA Squad
#6 What are the qualifying criteria?
A: If you think you are the next Bolt and between the ages of 14 and 19 you qualify to take part in the heats.
#7 Is this for schools or individual athletes?
A: Both schools and individuals can take part in the PUMA School of Speed.
#8 Is SoS officially accredited and will my SoS times count towards provincial and national championship qualification?
A: Yes, all the meets are endorsed by the Local Athletics Federations and all times count as official qualifications.
#9 How do I enter?
A: Right here via this website – 2019 Entries Are Open!
#10 What is the cost to enter?
A: All entries are free, but you have to enter online.
#11 How do I get to the event?
A: Your own transport by way of bus, car or bicycle.
#12 Will I be able to buy food and beverages at the event?
A: Yes, There will be a number of vendors at the events. Spur will be there selling delicious chips and burgers!
#13 Is there a Safe Bag area for me to use as a locker at the event?
A: No. We suggest you don’t bring anything of value to the meet. You are solely responsible for your belongings.
#14 What time do the meets begin and end (approximately)?
A: Start times vary from 10h30 to 15h30 depending on event – VIEW EVENT DETAILS.
Depending on the number of heats, the finals will start at approximately 18h30 and will finish at 21h30.
#15 Can my family & friends come along to support me?
A: Yes, family, friends and extended family are encouraged to come and support you. Spectator entry tickets will be on sale for R20 per person at the venue entrance on the day of the meet. Kids in school uniform and those under 6 are free.
