#1 What is PUMA School of Speed (SoS)?
A: An innovative School Athletics Series showcasing SA’s talent and a means of identifying up and coming Faster Stars
#2 Who is the team behind SoS?

#3 What events form part of SoS?
A: Focussing on track events only you have a chance to take part in the 100m, 200m, 400m and 800m. There is also a 1mile event, but invitational only.
#4 Where does SoS take place?

A: Pretoria, Gauteng, Cape Town, Durban and Paarl.


#5 Why should I enter SoS?
A: SoS offers you the opportunity to be identified as the next Fastest athlete. 5 of the top runners from each meet will be awarded a PUMA product contract for a year.
#6 What are the qualifying criteria?

A: If you think you are the next Bolt and between the ages of 14 and 19 you qualify to take part in the track heats.

#7 Is this for schools or individual athletes?
A: Both, you can enter through your school or if you want to be a part of this and your school does not take part, you can enter as an individual.
#8 Is SoS officially accredited and will my SoS times count towards provincial and national championship qualification?
A: Yes, all the meets are endorsed by the Local Athletics Federations and all times count as official qualifications.
#9 What prizes are up for grabs at SoS?

A: Bragging rights for being a part of the Fastest event in South Africa
B: Cool Puma Tees for the top 3 in each category final
C: 5 PUMA product contracts to the Fastest athletes per meet.

#11 What is the cost to enter?

A: All entries are free!

#12 How do I get to the event?
A: Your own transport by way of bus, car or bicycle.
#13 Will I be able to buy food and beverages at the event?
A: Yes, there will be accredited food and drink vendors at all the events
#14 Is there a Safe Bag area for me to use as a locker at the event?
A: No. We suggest you don’t bring anything of value to the meet. You are solely responsible for your belongings.
#15 What time do the meets begin and end (approximately)?
A: Depending on the number of heats, it will start at around 14h00 in the afternoon. Finals will start at 18h30 and will finish at 21h30.
#16 Will the event be streamed?

A: Yes, catch the stream during the event on our website

#17 Can my family & friends come along to support me?
A: Yes, family, friends and extended family are encouraged to come and support you. Spectator entry tickets will be on sale for R20 per person at the venue entrance on the day of the meet. Kids in school uniform and those under 6 are free.
